Renewable Scholarship Criteria - Scholarships are automatically renewed each year if the student meets the following requirements:
To be automatically renewed a student must have completed a total of 12 or more academic units in any two terms of study between May and April and maintained a grade point average of 7.50 or higher on the best 12 units. The scholarship is automatically renewed for each year of the student’s full time study until completion of a first degree or for a maximum of four years, whichever is the shorter period.
A student whose grade point average falls below 7.50 may file a written appeal with the Senate Committee on Awards to seek special consideration for the renewal of the scholarship.
Students registered in a co-op or work experience workterm will automatically be renewed when they next complete 12 or more academic units in two terms, provided they have a grade point average of 7.50 or higher in the two terms.
*Any student who takes neither a co-op, work experience/workterm, nor academic units for one or more terms may forfeit their scholarship. |

Application Required: Please submit the online Entrance Scholarship Application for Specific Criteria Scholarships. To apply click on the "Renewable Scholarships" link on the online application and you will be considered for the renewable scholarships listed below. Selection will be based on academic excellence, breadth of interest and leadership qualities. Students must submit a list of any academic achievements, community involvement, and a letter to the Senate Committee on Awards outlining their career goals. A scholarship, to a maximum of $12,000 (payable at $3,000 per year, for up to 4 years), is awarded to academically outstanding students entering undergraduate programs from secondary schools in Canada.

Up to ten scholarships of $4,500 are awarded to students of exceptional promise entering the University of Victoria directly from British Columbia secondary schools, colleges, and universities; normally two of the ten scholarships are reserved for college or university students. Candidates must have a very high academic record in their last two years of study.

A scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student entering the University of Victoria from a Canadian Secondary School.

MAURICE WILLIAM SUMMERHAYES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP |
One or more scholarships of $20,000 or more, payable over four years, will be awarded to a student with an outstanding academic record, who is entering an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering. Preference will be given, in order, to students who completed secondary school studies on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, or in Canada. At the discretion of the Dean, this scholarship may not be awarded to students who hold another scholarship from the Faculty of Engineering. To be automatically renewed a student must have completed a total of 12 or more academic units in any two terms of study between May and April and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 7.00 or higher on the best 12 units.
Students registered in a co-op or work experience work term will automatically be renewed when they next complete 12 or more academic units in two terms, provided they have a cumulative grade point average of 7.00 or higher in the two terms.

Renewable criteria:
The award is renewable at the value initially offered in each of the second, third, and fourth years of study at UVic provided that the recipient continues to demonstrate financial need by completing a budget form and has achieved a minimum sessional grade point average of 5.0 in his or her previous year of study. They must also continue to be registered in a total of 12 or more academic units of study between September - April ( unless in a registered co-op or work term).

FAIRFAX FINANCIAL HOLDINGS LTD. ENTRANCE AWARD |
Awarded to an undergraduate student who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; has graduated from a Canadian secondary school or CEGEP no longer than 18 months prior to the start of the academic year; has demonstrated financial need; has achieved a minimum average of 80% (or equivalent) on the high school courses used for admission. Students must not have previously recevied a Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Award and must be continuing in the same program for which they originally applied. |

Students will be automatically assessed for the GPA renewable scholarships when they self-report their Grade 12 marks.

The University of Victoria awards scholarships of $26,000, payable at $6,500 per year; scholarships of $20,000, payable at $5,000 per year; scholarships of $16,000, payable at $4,000 per year, to academically outstanding students entering undergraduate programs from secondary schools in Canada. |

EXTERNAL RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIP
Schulich Leader Scholarships - external Renewable
Renewable criteria:
The Schulich Leader Scholarships are renewable for an additional three years, or until first undergraduate degree is obtained, whichever is the shorter period. Schulich Leaders must continue to be enrolled full-time in one of UVic's STEM Faculties to remain eligible for the scholarship and must pass the academic year having failed no courses to be automatically renewed each year. |
SCHULICH LEADER SCHOLARSHIPS - EXTERNAL RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIP
*Students must be nominated by their high school, secondary school, or CEGPE to be considered.

Two renewable scholarships are offered by Seymour Schulich and the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto to support Canadian undergraduate stduents entering UVic from high schools, secondary schools, or CEGEP's in Canada. Students must be enrolled to study in the areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics or other related disciplines referred to as STEM Faculties. When selecting Schulich Leaders consideration will be given to at least two of the following criteria: academic excellence; demonstrated leadership in school or community, or evidence of entrepreneurial talent; or financial need.
