Protection of Privacy and Access to Information

The University of Victoria collects the personal information on its forms pursuant to the University Act, RSBC 1996, c. 468 and section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information you provide is used for the purposes of admission, registration and other decisions on your academic status and may be provided to the relevant students’ society and alumni association. The information may also be used for research purposes but in those cases, individual identities will not be disclosed. For more details on how the information is used, contact the Office of the Registrar or read UVic policy 4400, Access to Student Records at http://registrar.uvic.ca. If you wish to have information on the status of your application released to a friend or relative you must provide written permission to Undergraduate Records.
