Restrictions on Registration in Summer Session

The University reserves the right to reject applicants for admission whose previous academic records are unsatisfactory, even if they technically meet admission requirements.

Attendance

Departments reserve the right to cancel the registration of any student who is not able to demonstrate that all course prerequisites have been met or who fails to attend a course within the period indicated below. HOWEVER SEE IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW.

May–August courses: first seven calendar days from commencement of the course

May–June courses: first two class meetings

July–August courses: first two class meetings

Courses that are not formally dropped will be given a FAILING GRADE and you may be required to withdraw and you will be required to pay the TUITION FEE for the course.

NOTE: Students should NOT assume, therefore, that failure to attend classes will result in automatic cancellation of their registration. Access www.uvic.ca/mypage and check your registration status.

Subject to Enrolment Criteria

Students are encouraged to register as early as possible. Most courses given in May, June, July, and August are “Subject to Enrolment” and may be canceled as early as one month prior to their start date if the Subject to Enrolment figures are not met.
