Indigenous Student Mini- University Summer Camp

The Indigenous Student Mini-University Summer Camp gives Indigenous students in Grades 8 to 12 a taste of university life, including academic, physical, creative, cultural, and social activities. It’s a great way to learn about the benefits of a post-secondary education and to envision options for the future. Science Venture

Science Venture’s innovative programs for students in grades 1 through 12 are operated through the Faculty of Engineering and Science. In July and August, instructors develop and teach eight weeks of science, engineering, and technology summer camps that are based at UVic. Summer Fun

UVic’s Summer Fun program is for children who have completed at least Grade 1 and up to completion of Grade 7. Running during July and August, the program involves a different theme each week with suitable activities to develop the theme, including arts and crafts, board games, music and drama, out-trips into the community, and recreational activities. Vikes Summer Camps

Join the Vikes on campus this summer for action packed fun! We offer day camps during July and August for children ages 5-18 years of age. Specific camps include soccer, basketball, swimming, track & Field, volleyball, tennis, racquet sports, ice hockey, Mini Vikes, multi-sports, Vikes Adventurers, dance and more! Recreation

Vikes Recreation is your campus starting point for fun, fitness and recreation. We provide specific programming designed to meet the needs of students and host great student events throughout the year. We are committed to providing a wide variety of programs and services, including: one of the largest fitness weight centres in Western Canada, convenient aqua-fit and fitness classes including yoga, martial arts and dance, a competitive and social intramurals program and various sports and recreation clubs. Recreation Facilities


The campus has several playing fields, including a double-wide artificial turf, Centennial Stadium (4,500 seats), tennis courts and miles of jogging trails through the woods and along Cadboro Bay.


The McKinnon Building includes a gymnasium, dance studio, weight-training room, 25-metre L-shaped pool, squash courts, and change room and shower facilities. The Stewart Complex includes a field house, gymnasium, 18,000 square foot fitness/weight centre, 25-metre outdoor pool, tennis, squash, racquetball and badminton courts, an ice rink, and change room and shower facilities.

Use of the facilities and participation in the programs of Athletics and Recreation is open to students and to faculty and staff who have acquired a Vikes Recreation membership card. Family memberships for faculty, staff and students are also available.
