Medical Insurance Coverage

It is essential that all international students, their spouses and children who are not permanent residents of Canada have adequate medical insurance coverage during their stay at the University of Victoria. As the BC Medical Plan insurance does not come into effect until three months after arrival, international students must also obtain appropriate medical coverage for the first three months. This may be arranged through a plan in your home country or upon arrival at the University. Be sure to apply for BC Medical Insurance as soon as possible after arrival.
