Admission Requirements

The minimum academic qualification for consideration is secondary school graduation with an average of at least 67% (70% for Bachelor of Engineering/Software Engineering and 80% for Business) calculated on all required grade 12 courses.

Due to limits on enrollment and competiveness of certain programs, the actual cutoffs in a given year are usually higher.

  • Additional selection requirements such as an audition, portfolio and/or questionnaire are required for the School of Music, Theatre and Visual Arts. Important Notes:
• Courses numbered 23, 33, 24, 34, 26, 36, 20-2, 20-3, 30-2, 30-3 are generally not acceptable.
• English Language Arts 20-1 and 30-1 are the required English courses.
• English Language Arts 20-2 and 30-2 are NOT acceptable.
• Courses must be 5 credits each.
• Two 3-credit courses (max. once per grade level) may be substituted for a 5-credit course and the average of the two 30-level courses will be used as one grade in the calculation.
• Aboriginal Studies 20 and 30 can be 3 or 5 credit courses -- only the 5 credit version is acceptable as a stand-alone course.
• Courses numbered 25 and 35 are considered on a case-by-case basis depending on relevancy to the requested program. Common examples are listed below.
