British Columbia & Yukon Secondary Schools
Admission Requirements

In all cases Secondary School Graduation as prescribed by the British Columbia Ministry of Education is required for consideration. A minimum average of 67% (calculated on the grade 12 subjects listed) is required for consideration to all faculties with year one entry except for the following:

Faculty of Business, Bachelor of Commerce

Faculty of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Software Engineering

  • A minimum average of 70% (calculated on English 12, Principles of Mathematics 12, Physics 12 and an approved academic 12 course) is required for consideration to the Faculty of Engineering's Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Software Engineering programs.

IMPORTANT NOTE - The actual average required for admission may be higher than the minimum published average due to limits on enrollment.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS - Check the admission requirements below for the faculty that interests you.

PROVINCIAL EXAMINATIONS - For admission prior to September 2008, all applicants were required to write provincial examinations for all courses being used to meet admission requirements if an exam was offered for that course. Students graduating in June 2008 and beyond, must have written provincial examinations in any subject where it is mandatory in order to meet BC Graduation Program requirements. When a student elects to write an optional grade 12 provincial exam, the higher of the school mark or the blended grade (school mark and provincial exam result combined) will be used in the admission average calculation.
