Saskatchewan Secondary Schools Admission Requirements

The minimum academic qualification for consideration is secondary school graduation with an average of at least 67% (70% for Bachelor of Engineering/Software Engineering and 80% for Business) calculated on all required grade 12 courses.

Due to limits on enrollment and competiveness of certain programs, the actual cutoffs in a given year are usually higher.

  • Math C30 with at least 73%
  • Physics 30
  • approved academic 30 course (Chemistry 30 recommended)


ENGINEERING (Computer Science)

FINE ARTS

  • three courses chosen from Math 20; approved science 20; approved second language 20; approved fine arts 20
  • English Language Arts A30 & B30
  • three approved academic 30 courses or two approved academic 30 courses and one approved fine arts 30 course (total of 3 credits)
  • Additional selection requirements such as an audition, portfolio and/or questionnaire are required for the School of Music, Theatre and Visual Arts. Important Notes:

  • Courses numbered 11, 21, 18, 28 and 38 are not accepted for admission.
  • English Language Arts 20 and English Language Arts A30 and B30 are the required English courses. The marks from English Language Arts A30 and B30 will be averaged to provide a single English mark that will be used in the admission average calculation.
  • French Immersion students require Francais Immersion 20 plus English Language Arts 20 and one of English Language Arts A30 or B30 plus Francais Immersion 30.
  • Any 30 level Canadian Studies or compulsory social science course (eg. Economics 30) will also be accepted as an approved Social Studies 11 course.
  • Courses must be 1 credit each.
  • In some cases, courses numbered 35 and 30L may be accepted.
