Students who are waitlisted for a section are not guaranteed enrolment in that section as space is limited. Although every effort is made to accommodate students on waitlists, students are advised to contact the appropriate academic unit regarding the availability of space before making arrangements to move to Victoria.
How Do I See My Waitlist Position?
Check your position via the ‘View & Maintain Waitlist’ page in Class Registration (through My page).
How Do I Know If I Get a Seat in the Section?
If a space becomes available and you receive a registration offer, you will be sent an email. Check your email daily. Be sure to accept the registration offer before the stated deadline as the offer will expire; you will be dropped from the waitlist and therefore not eligible to receive another offer to register in the section. If you are dropped from the waitlist, you may try to re-register in the section; however you will be added to the waitlist in the next available position.

I’ve Received An Offer But Not For My Preferred Section. What Should I Do?
If you accept the offer for this section, you will lose your place on all the other waitlists for that same course. Alternatively, you can decline it and take your chances on your preferred section.
How Do I Remove Myself From a Waitlist?
If you are waitlisted for a course and decide that you do not wish to register in the course, you must drop the waitlisted course from your record. You can do this by selecting "View and Maintain Waitlists" in My page.
I’ve Lost My Place On The Waitlist. What Happened?
Students who drop a waitlisted course or do not accept their registration offer by the deadline will lose their position on the waitlist.
What Happens to the Other Waitlists I May Be On For That Same Course?
If you accept a registration offer for one of the chosen waitlisted sections of the same course, you will be dropped from the other sections of that course. Similarly, for linked courses, you are able to waitlist in more than one of the linked sections (example A01, A02, B01, B02). Accepting any registration offers will automatically drop you from the waitlist for the other sections.
What Do I Do If I’m Still on the Waitlist When Classes Start?
After classes start you should attend those courses in which you are waitlisted to determine your status. The instructor or department may be able to add you to the section if space becomes available. If you choose not to attend a course you are waitlisted for you will reduce your chances of getting into the course.
For summer deadlines, see table of “Course Dates and Deadlines”: http://registrar.uvic.ca/summer/adreg/dates.html. For winter deadlines, see Academic Year Important Dates: http://www.uvic.ca/calendar/GI/2AYeID.html.
If you have any questions concerning your waitlist status contact the department concerned.
