Course or Professional Development Union

Students in a Course or Professional Development Union may request a classroom for course related studies (including socials) online or by mailing in a completed PDF of a booking request. Student permanent address, student number and phone number are required as well as the Course or Professional Development Union name, contact information and equipment requirements.

There is no charge for classroom equipment provided it is used for academic purposes. Equipment keys must be signed out via the academic department.
If additional equipment or furniture is required but is not available in the classroom, a confirmation of booking is emailed to the student informing them to contact the UVSS general office to request approval of the charges. The UVSS sends a requisition to Audio Visual or Facilities Management for any equipment or furniture that is approved.

If classroom equipment is required and available, NACB emails the confirmation to the student which is used to obtain an equipment key from the UVSS general office (no charge).
If a demonstration of equipment is requested, the student will be contacted by NACB to book date/time for a demonstration (no charge) in the same room and then NACB arranges the demo via AVTV at 8292. This ensures student availability for the demo.
Use of classroom equipment not related to course work is permitted for socials (there is a charge). NACB either emails the student a booking confirmation which may be used to obtain an equipment key from the UVSS general office (for confirmations showing the charges) or a confirmation showing bookings with no charges approved (no equipment can be used).
There is no charge for the use of the classroom.
Course or Professional Development Unions are not permitted to sponsor off-campus organizations or conferences or to book rooms for clubs.
The Director of Services (services[NO SPAM]@uvss.uvic.ca) facilitates and provides funding for Course or Professional Development Unions which are funded by UVic students via their UVic fees.
